A Jock’s journey, man

The British and Irish steel challenge consists of winning every trophy in the base game from the countries of Great Britain and The Republic of Ireland. The trophies are as follows:

England (12):

Premiership, Championship, League 1, League 2, National League, National North, National South, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Checkatrade Trophy, Community Shield & FA Trophy

Scotland (7):

Premiership, Championship, League 1, League 2, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup & Scottish Challenge Cup

Ireland (7):

Premier Division, First Division, Senior Challenge Cup, League Cup, Munster Cup, Leinster Senior Cup & Presidents Cup

N Ireland (9):

Danske Bank Premiership, NIFL Championship, NIFL Premier Intermediate League, Northern Irish Cup, League Cup, County Antrim Shield, Steel and Sons Cup, Intermediate Cup & Mid Ulster Cup

Wales (3): Premier League, Welsh Cup & Nathaniel MG Cup

The aim is simple, win the above listed trophies in any order whilst starting off unemployed and with a Sunday league rep. This started out as only being able to manage in Great Britain and Ireland, but I like variety in my FM saves so I’ve loaded a couple of other nations as well to have some potential. But we’ll see where we end up.

I’ve seen other forums say you can’t manage in any other country other than Great Britain or Ireland, but I think for the sake of this challenge if an opportunity comes up to manage elsewhere I will consider it. Also on the SI forum a couple of guys are doing this and have added international competitions as well, I am leaving these out initially but I may add them later.

As some added bonus objectives, I would like to manage the following teams in this save if they become available:

  • Motherwell (The team our hero supports)
  • Hibernian or Hearts
  • York City
  • FC United
  • Gateshead
  • Portsmouth
  • Bristol City

This is the story of a failed, disgraced ex Sunday league footballer as he goes on a journey around various clubs and tries to complete this challenge, to become king of the British Isles.

Join this Jock on his journey, man.
